SolidWorks

REQUEST A DEMO ››

SolidWorks is a mCAD tool which assists in building and designing mechanical and software elements. Oracle PLM Cloud consolidate product innovation, development & commercialization on a fully connected platform. The integration between both systems allows for the synchronization of objects to increase productivity by reducing delays and time to market.

Capabilities

For integration between SolidWorks and Oracle PLM Cloud, the SolidWorks adapter uses .Net add-ins.

  • Get/update attributes from EPDM data-card
  • Get BOM from Model or Drawing
  • Read BOM table and metadata from drawing files (DWG files)
  • Adapter can hook into any EPDM workflow

SolidWorks & Oracle PLM Cloud

Trigger 1
Create part in SolidWorks and save it in Enterprise Product Data Management (EPDM)

Action 1
When part number is pulled, part number is first requested and then part is created in Oracle PD which is returned to EPDM and placed on part/assembly file

Trigger 2
ECO created in PD and assembly is placed on it

Action 2
ECO number placed on assembly in SolidWorks

Trigger 3
Part is moved to another workflow status in SolidWorks like “Oracle PLM Cloud PLM Sync”

Action 3
BOM and attachments are synced back to Oracle PD

Trigger 4
Part approved and ECO released in Oracle PD

Action 4
Part status changed to released in SolidWorks

Benefits

  • Integration can be Event-driven, Data-Driven, or through a Polling process
  • Bi-directional integration support
  • Capability to sync multiple objects
  • Error handling capabilities and Verbose Logging
  • Small Footprint and easy deployment
